The FCC is warning consumers about a new phone scam to be on the look out for.  It’s being called the “yes scam,” and you could fall victim by simply saying “yes.”

According to ABC News, the scam begins as soon as you answer the phone.  The recorded voice asks, “can you hear me okay?” The scammer is recording the call, and hoping you will respond with a “yes.”  The reason they want to record you saying yes, is so that they will then have a voice signature to verify future fraudulent charges.

The FCC advises you to ignore phone calls from numbers you do not know, and let them go directly to voicemail.  Watch ABC News‘ report and read more on the story here.
