The Indianapolis community will join IMPD, family and other friends at a viewing for a murdered veteran police woman beginning Tuesday afternoon. Slain IMPD officer Kimbeerlee Carmack’s viewing starts at 2 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. at the Crown Hill Funeral Home in the 700 block of West 38th Street. As the celebration of her life and her 20 years on the force begin, we now know some of the details of her domestic troubles. Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry said felony stalking charges were going to be filed against Carmack’s ex-husband Sergeant Ryan Anders. Anders shot and killed her, then took his own life. Curry says his team was tying up some loose ends last Thursday when Anders broke into Carmack’s house and ended her life. Why Carmack was in the home and how Anders knew she was there remains a mystery, according to Curry. He said Carmack was moved to a safe house in March.
