As word spreads that a family of six was killed this weekend in a deadly blaze in Indianapolis, the sad reality of death hits the children’s school. All four children in the Guerra family ranging in ages from six to 14 attended Lighthouse Charter School on Indy’s east side. Esteban Guerra,11, and Blanquita Guerra, 8, were killed Saturday in the house fire that also took the lives of their parents Lionel Guerra, 47, and Brandy Guerra, 33, in the 2100 block of North Olney Street. Two other children Fuentes Guerra, 6, and Miranda Guerra, 14, were rescued and taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health but they died Sunday after being taken off life support. Counselors will be standing by at Lighthouse Charter School to help students, faculty and staff through this tragedy.
