Sen. Joe Donnelly Talks Jobs, Vets, Iran Sanctions, Extended Unemployment And More With Amos, Listeners

amos and donnelly oct 22Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly stopped by AM1310 The Light this past week and talked with Amos and Listeners about a number of key issues.  The Senator talked about the passage of the Farm Bill and how it will benefit Hoosiers, including the African-American community. Despite $8 billion in cuts to food programs like food stamps.  The Senator talked about continuing efforts to improve the job situation in the nation and in Indiana. Donnelly talked about his effort to change one aspect of the Affordable Care Act to protect those working 40 hours a week.  The Senator strongly defended efforts to raise the minimum wage and to extend continue extended unemployment benefits.  Sen. Donnelly has been one of a number of bipartisan Senators wanting to prepare tougher economic sanctions on Iran in case they renege on their agreement with the world’s powers over Iran’s nuclear program.  President Obama strongly opposes the Senator’s efforts.  Sen. Donnelly explained his position to Amos and listeners.  The Senator also passionately talked about his continued advocacy for veterans.  He’s especially working on ways to get veterans the mental help and counseling their need to reduce the high numbers of suicides among vets, especially vets of Iraq and Afghanistan.  Click the Arrow to Hear Senator Joe Donnelly’s Interview with Amos and Listeners.
