4 Found Dead in Waynesville Home
Four people were found fatally shot in a home in rural Bartholomew County late Saturday night.
53 year old Katheryn Burton, Her boyfriend, 39 year old Thomas Smith, and their friends 41 year old Aaron Cross, and 41 year old Shawn Burton, were all found dead in Waynesville, that’s about six miles south of Columbus.
The County Sheriff said dispatchers received call from a man who said he just returned home from work. That man, 27-year-old Daniel Burton, told the dispatcher that he lived at the home with his mother and stepfather.
No arrests have been made.
Homeowner Shot Multiple Times in Garage
A man was in serious condition after he was shot multiple times on the city’s north side Sunday evening.
The homeowner was outside working on his vehicles in the garage when he said two men confronted him, and was shot multiple times after an argument.
The homeowner was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
Police are looking for information on the suspects.
Firefighters Recue Dog From Burning Building
First responders saved a dog that was barely conscious from a burning apartment Sunday afternoon.
IFD responded to a fire at an apartment building in the 4100 block of North Emerson Avenue, When a firefighter found a 6-year-old poodle named Mandy. A paramedic administered oxygen therapy through a mask and monitored the dog for recovery, and Two other medics hooked up an IV line with fluids.
After 20 minutes, the dog was moving and was taken to a nearby animal hospital.
The damage to that building is estimated near $75,000.
62 People Arrested at May Day Concert
State Excise Police officers arrested 62 people Saturday during the May Day concerts at Klipsch Music Center.
11 juveniles, 37 minors and 14 adults were arrested on 67 charges, officials said.
Of those arrests, 22 people were preliminarily charged with possession of marijuana. Other charges included illegal possession of alcohol and furnishing alcoholic beverages to minors, police said.
Woman Killed After Crash with Street Sweeper
A woman was killed when her SUV crashed into the back of a street sweeper early Sunday morning on Indianapolis’ north side. Police said the crash happened about 3am in the 700 block of West 86th Street. The woman was trapped in the SUV. Crews pulled the woman from the wreckage, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the street sweeper was not seriously injured and Police do not believe alcohol was involved.
Drunk Man with Meth Chemicals at Burger King
A man is facing charges after police found components of a meth lab inside his backpacks. Police say the man was drunk at the Burger King on Rockville Road Sunday morning and when officers searched his three bags, they found the suspicious chemicals. The restaurant was evacuated, but reopened after HAZMAT crews sealed the chemicals.
