WTLC-AM LOGOTeen Shot in East side Shoot Out

A 17-year-old boy was seriously injured in a shooting on the city’s east side.

Witnesses said the shooting happened just before 1 a.m. in the 8500 block of East Bel Air Drive near 38th Street and Post Road.

The teen was rushed to Wishard Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

Details about the events that happened before the shooting were not immediately released.


Fire Destroys West side Apartments

Five west side residents have been displaced from their homes after a fire at the Spring Hill Apartments.

It happened Just before 1 a.m., and IFD said resident George Durham smelled smoke and alerted his neighbors to leave the building.

Firefighters said the blaze was sparked by heater motor in a laundry room that caught fire.
No injuries were reported and crews estimated the fire caused $150,000 in damages.


Police Looking For Missing Woman

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing woman.

57 year old Marsha Smith of Lafayette, hasn’t been seen since Sunday morning.

Smith is a white female, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Police believe she might be disoriented, in danger and in need of medical attention and traveling on foot.

Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police.


New Skyscraper Proposed For Market Square Arena Site

A 52-story skyscraper could be built at the old Market Square Arena site.  The proposed project was one of six submitted to city leaders for ideas to redevelop the two-acre lot on the northeast corner of Alabama and Market streets.

A spokesperson for Mayor Greg Ballard says the goal is to have a project selected by the end of the year.


Police Officer Dragged By Truck

Police are looking for the driver of a 2003 white Ford Ranger that dragged an off-duty Hamilton County police officer early Monday morning.

Joshua Robertson says as he was at 96th Street and Olio Road where he was approaching the truck, the driver took off and his hand got caught in the tailgate, dragging him for about 15-feet.
