Bloomington Trail Attacker Arrested

Police have arrested a man in connection with an attack along a Bloomington trail.

I told you last week about a A 23-year-old woman who was rollerblading on the trail when a man tackled her, hit her several times and started pulling at her clothes.

After police released a sketch of the attacker received several calls from people who recognized the suspect, 23 year old Scott Hedrick-Dwyer.

He was arrested on several charges, including confinement and battery.

 

Fishers Woman Arrested For Allowing Minors To Drink Alcohol

A Fishers woman was arrested after she told police she knew there were minors drinking alcohol in her home during a party.

Monday, Fishers police responded to a report of a loud party at a home near 96th Street and Cambridge Drive. When officers arrived, they found several young adults and minors standing in the front yard of the home drinking alcohol.

The homeowner, 43 year old, Lora Ann Essington was arrested on charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Thirteen minors were arrested on misdemeanor charges for drinking and possessing alcohol.

 

Police Searching For Hit-and-Run Suspect

IMPD is looking for a truck involved in a hit-and-run Sunday night.  Investigators say 40-year-old Erik Lee was struck on East 21st Street near North Kenyon Street and later died at the hospital.  Several witnesses told police they saw a black pickup truck leaving the scene immediately after the crash.

New Car Dealership Moving to Carmel

Despite opposition by area neighbors, a new car dealership is moving into Carmel.  Butler Hyundai won approval Tuesday night to put a new building on the north side of 96th Street at Randall Drive.

Several people living in Williamson Run said they were worried about the other businesses that might follow Butler and that the dealership would allow its customers to use their neighborhood for test drives.

 

Coroner To Use Dental Records in Identifying Human Remains 

A southern Indiana coroner says dental records will be used to try to identify remains found in Brown County.  According to “The Herald Times,” the bones were found scattered in a remote area last Thursday by mushroom hunters.

Brown County Coroner Earl Piper says the remains are those of a woman who had been dead at least two-years.

 

Indiana First Responders Train For Similar Boston Event

Hoosier first responders are learning what to do in the event of an explosion.  The training session with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security was already scheduled before Monday’s blasts at the Boston Marathon.  The training session is designed to give those in public safety the tools they need so they can react to the aftermath of a mass casualty.

 

Fire at Zionsville High School

New This Morning, Firefighters were dispatched to Zionsville High School around 4am on reports of a fire in the locker room of the school’s sports complex.

Dispatchers did not immediately say if there were any injuries or what may have sparked the fire.
